A couple of weekends ago, I took jaunt to upstate New York to visit my sailor-man. He’s living in a town called Clifton Park, NY for the next 6 months while he finishes training. Although I’m going to miss visiting him in Charleston (I do SO love the charm of the south), I think the summertime temperatures will be a little more enjoyable upstate. I squeezed in a short trip before closing on the house, but we were able to do a little bit of exploring. We spent a better part of Saturday in Saratoga Springs which was quite charming. We had a picnic lunch in a great little park and spied on all the kiddos chasing bubbles around, brides posing for pictures, and baby ducks getting fed.
Sunday we drove down to Albany to visit the very first day of the Albany Flea. Located at a great architectural salvage store, the flea seems to up and running and off to a great start. If you live in the area, go check it out. Also, they are still looking for vendors, so if you have wares to vend. . . give ‘em a shout.
Here are some pics of the day. I picked up a vintage clock with turquoise numbers (typical, I know) that will probably find a cute nook at the new house.
